|How to Balance between Your Writing Career and Personal Life – Part 2

As explained in the introductory part of this content, career and personal life is yet another area where most people are struggling with. Working hard is cool, in fact, that's what everyone will encourage you too, however, personal life remains at the receiving end. More often than not, it goes beyond control and extend to depression and getting used to a lonely life. However, with these few guides, you'll start enjoying your personal life, without affecting your career goals.

The first step towards balancing career and life is having a schedule that comprehensively give room for activities pertaining to both. Most individuals use what we do call, a to-do list, yet you can't find it in their schedule, a time to relax or even going out for a coffee or to a cinema. All they pile up in their schedule is, do do and do. As much as productivity and progress is all that is expected of us as a personnel, relaxing and hanging out with friends and family should also be something we write out as a plan.

The next thing is ensuring that you block out every forms of distractions while focusing on the task at hand. This method works effectively for people who set time for themselves. Once you allot a certain time within which a task must unfailingly be achieved, stick to that. Don't get derailed by side talks, unserious colleagues, unnecessary socializing, among several others. Avoid procrastination and ensure if it can be done in the next 5 — 15 minutes, then you do it immediately.

Furthermore, setting time for different task should be emphasized as a means towards avoiding unnecessary engagement. Set time to check and respond to queries and messages, set time when you welcome visitors, set time for the task you want to work on, and so on. Any message, person or action that comes out of schedule time should be postponed for another time. That way, you'll be able to achieve more in less time and dedicate the rest of your time for meaningful life engagements.

Lastly on this part, you should understand that balancing career and personal life doesn't necessarily means going beyond your personal values. If socializing or going to club or cinema is not something you fancy, you don't need to try it out just to while away time. Being a workaholic is just what you should avoid. Relaxing at home or in office, mediating or reading some contents at your leisure time is also part of personal life, at least, for your health. Before changing your schedule just because someone say you're going too far in your passion, understand what the phrase "between career and personal life" means.
