How to Balance between Your Writing Career and Personal Life – Part 1

Depression is real! Of course, you must have seen and heard about suicide cases resulting from depression. No one deliberately sign up for a boring life neither did anyone fancy being lonely like a lone. However, the writing profession can be a tasking one that requires you to seclude yourself from the rest of the world for a long time. Especially, if you are someone like me, who, under the guise of “multitasking” engage in lots of things at a time. How then do you get over a boring and lonely life as a writer?

As human beings, we were created to interact and get value from one another. More often than not, when we claim to not care about what other thing of us, the reality is the opposite. We rant that, we don’t give a damn about what anyone has to say about our actions and inactions. Be it a full- or part-time writer, there are some times you stay alone in the corner of your room or workspace. Sometimes, fighting writer’s block, other times creatively unleashing the creativity in you into words and sentences.

Writing is a very demanding task that requires much dedication and determination. However, our life also is not complete without proper interaction with others. To get over many hours of staying alone, barely speaking to people, there are two things you should do. The first is developing the skill of delaying gratification and the second one is avoiding procrastination. With the right combination of these two skills, you will have enough time for people without compromising your overwhelming deadlines.

The bottom line is, as a writer, you may be finding it hard to interact with people whilst working on your precious content. Some writers only come online to take and deliver tasks to clients. If you are in this box, then await the next part on this, where I’d be explaining it in details. As much as it is for writers, it can also be used by other people who find it hard to balance their career and personal life. Health , they say, is wealth. As much as you care about your relationship with your clients, it is also important that you take your personal life very serious.
